2013 - Cliverton's Jubilee Year!
A year behind the rest of the nation, at Cliverton we are celebrating our Jubilee Year in 2013. Cliverton was founded forty years ago, in 1973, and it is now ten years since the business was sold by the original owners and incorporated into the Lycetts group.
Cliverton thus has a working lifetime of experience in providing specialist insurance cover to animal related trades, rural and equestrian businesses, farms and smallholdings. Today we maintain our position as the market leader in our chosen fields.
Providing specialist cover
Cliverton continues to develop products for the specialist markets in which we operate and we aim to be the broker of first choice for these sectors.
We constantly monitor our competitors to make certain that our products are not only up to date and competitively priced, but also the ones for others to try to beat.
By specialising in selected classes of insurance, Cliverton has developed relationships with insurers which enable us to arrange cover for risks which have, traditionally, proved to be difficult to place. Most of our business is arranged through unique schemes with insurance companies, which are exclusive to Cliverton.
Cliverton - an innovative insurance company
In 2011 we were the first broker to offer three of our animal trades products for immediate sale on-line and this is an increasingly important part of our business. The Cliverton website continues to be developed to answer the consumer's demands for rapid service and for 2013 we have plans to expand the range of products available on-line.
2011 also saw the launch of our vet fee policy designed specifically for working dogs.
In February 2012 we added enhanced cover for shoots, shooting syndicates and clay pigeon clubs. Later in 2012 we enhanced our boarding kennel cover, and introduced a non-negligent extension to some of our policies.
We work hard to develop insurance policies that match our client’s needs and we continue to negotiate with our insurers for enhancements in cover for the trades we insure.

Regulation bringing peace of mind
We regard the security of insurers as paramount and we only arrange insurance through companies which are approved by the Financial Services Authority.
Following the retirement of the original owner in 2003, Cliverton now operates as a separate trading division of Lycetts, who are regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Please see the regulatory section for further information.
