Domestic pet insurance policies will normally exclude cover for any sort of working dog, and will always exclude security guard dogs. We have therefore arranged an insurance policy specifically for working dogs which provides vet fee cover from the puppy stage through the dog’s working life, ceasing once the dog reaches nine years of age.
The policy can include gundogs, sheep dogs, pastoral dogs, drug/explosive detection, search and rescue dogs, security guard dogs, guide/hearing/therapy dogs, including displays, working demonstrations and trials/competitions for the above uses.
Insurance cover is not available for dogs used for racing.
The policy does not include public liability insurance, as in the case of a working dog, this will already be covered by your business insurance.
