£5,000,000 (£10,000,000 available at additional cost)
The owners of exotic and unusual pets may need to arrange public liability cover, as keeping such animals will almost certainly be excluded from the liability section of any household insurance policy. Where animals need to be licenced under the Dangerous Wild Animals Acts 1976 and 1984, it is a requirement of the licence that adequate public liability insurance is arranged.
In certain circumstances, the cover can be extended to include handling of the animals by members of the public.
