Whether you are the organiser of a shooting syndicate, you run a game shoot or you own shooting rights we can arrange a bespoke policy to suit your needs.  We are also able to cover the rearing of game birds, gamekeepers, beaters/loaders and much more.  In addition we can also arrange a legal expenses policy which will give you assistance and advice for licensing disputes, noise complaints and much more. We are also able to provide cover for “one-off” shoots and can include cover for guests.

This policy is suitable for people, businesses or shooting syndicates who are looking to cover their Public Liability for shooting activities.

What activities are covered?

  • Shooting Syndicates

Where you organise a game or deer shooting syndicate we are able to arrange the public liability for the days which you will be shooting.

  • Shoot Owner / Letting shooting days

If you own land upon which you organise your own shooting we can arrange public liability for your shooting activities.

  • Shooting Instruction

If you provide shooting instruction either as an attendant to a shoot or as part of your own shoot we arrange Public Liability for this.

  • Gamekeeping

Where the shoot employs a gamekeeper throughout the year we can include this as part of the policy, however in most cases you will be required to include employers’ liability.

  • Sale of game & Venison

Cliverton automatically include the sale of either game birds or venison as part of the policy.



Public Liability

This will cover claims arising from the actions of you, a syndicate member, a gun, employee or voluntary helper which has resulted in injury to a third party or damage to a third parties property as a result of negligence.

The standard limit is £5,000,000; this can be extended to £10,000,000 for an additional premium.

Products Liability

This section of the policy provides cover for claims arising from products supplied by you during the course of the insured activities.

The limit of £5,000,000 is our standard and is included as part of the Public liability for no additional charge.

Fee Paying Guests (optional extra)

Should you allow participants to join your syndicate for a day or if give shooting instruction we can include the public liability for them for the time which they are attend.

Employers’ Liability (optional extra)

Where you have paid, voluntary or self employed helpers working for you in connection with your shooting activities; it is a legal requirement that you have Employers’ Liability insurance. This will provide cover in the event of them being injured whilst working for you due to negligence.

The amount of cover provided is £10,000,000.

Please inform us should you have anybody who assists with the shoot on a voluntary basis.

Property & Equipment (optional extra)

You can add cover for business property and equipment to your policy. This can include most items used for your business ranging from small items such as hand held equipment and stock to large items such as ride on lawn mowers and office equipment.We are also able to arrange cover for your clay stock, traps and guns.

We are also able to arrange additional cover for commercial premises, business interruption, theft of money and your home

Personal Accident Cover (optional extra)

By including Personal Accident cover under your policy you will be provided with a weekly benefit in the event of you suffering an injury whilst carrying out your business activities.

You can choose from benefits of £100 per week payable for 104 weeks or £250 per week payable for 52 weeks. This section of cover also includes a lump sum compensation for accidental death, permanent loss of sight and/or limbs and total disablement.

Please note that this does not cover any pre-existing conditions or illness, or any injury sustained whilst commuting to or from work.

What is not covered?

  • Own personal liability for the use of /ownership of a gun
  • Damage to crops by game birds
  • Liabiltiy for your actvities as a sporting agent
  • Any shoots taking places outside of the United Kingdom
  • Any excess applicable
