This insurance policy is suitable for people, businesses or shooting syndicates who are looking to cover their public liability for shooting activities. This is not suitable for those looking for personal liability for their guns.

POLICY INFORMATION

What activities are covered?

Shooting syndicates – If you organise a game or deer shooting syndicates, we can arrange the public liability for the days you will be shooting.

Shoot owner / letting shooting days – If you own land upon which you organise your own shooting, we can arrange public liability for your shooting activities.

Shooting instruction – If you provide shooting instruction either as an attendant to a shoot or as part of your own shoot, we arrange public liability for this.

Gamekeeping – Where the shoot employs a gamekeeper throughout the year, we can include this as part of the policy.In most cases you will be required to include employers’ liability.

Sale of game and venison – we automatically include the sale of either game birds or venison as part of the policy.

We are also able to cover the rearing of game birds, gamekeepers, beaters/loaders and much more.

Public Liability

Designed to protect you against liability claims for injury caused to third parties or damage to their property as a result of your negligence. For instance if a member of the public was injured by a stray bullet.

The standard limit is £5 million, but it can be extended to £10 million for an additional premium.

Products Liability

This covers the business up to £5 million if injuries or damages arise as a result of a defective product that your business had supplied.

Fee Paying Guests (optional extra)

If you allow participants to join your syndicate for a day or give shooting instruction, we can include the cover for them for the time which they are attend.

Employers’ Liability (optional extra)

If you have paid, voluntary or self-employed helpers working for your business, you are legally required to have this insurance as this will provide cover should they be injured while at work. The amount of cover provided is £10 million. It is important that you inform us should you have anybody who assists with the shoot on a voluntary basis.

Property & Equipment (optional extra)

We can cover your organisation’s property and equipment, from small items to large. We are also able to arrange cover for your clay stock, traps and guns, as well as cover for commercial premises, business interruption, theft of money and your home.

Personal Accident Cover (optional extra)

Provides financial compensation should the insured party be injured while carrying out business activities. You can choose from benefits of up to £250 per week.. This section includes a lump sum compensation for accidental death, permanent loss of sight and/or limbs and total disablement.

Please note that this does not cover any pre-existing conditions or illness, or any injury sustained whilst commuting to or from work.

What is not covered?

  • Your own personal liability for the use or ownership of a gun
  • Damage to crops by game birds.
  • Liability for your activities as a sporting agent
  • Any shoots outside of the UK
  • Any excess applicable.
