Please note that many insurers operate claims helplines which you can call to report a claim and to receive immediate advice. The telephone numbers will be shown either in your policy document or your annual schedule of cover.
In the event that an insurance claim arises out of hours and you cannot contact anyone at the insurance company.
You should take immediate steps to secure the property and make it safe to prevent further damage arising, or injury being caused to members of the public. Typically this may involve boarding up, isolating electric supplies, turning off water or in extreme cases, shoring up the building.
Provided that the damage results in a valid claim on the policy and that the costs are reasonable, these emergency works will be covered by your insurance.
You should then report the loss to Cliverton as soon as possible.
